Plant Varieties & Seeds Common Framework – Stakeholder Engagement Document
Following the UK’s departure from the EU, Scottish Government, Defra, Welsh Government and DAERA have agreed to a non-legislative framework, underpinned by a Concordat signed by all parties, for the administration and management of plant variety registration and marketing and plant breeders’ rights. The PVS Stakeholder Common Framework explainer document provides a short overview as to the content of the Framework, the structure, roles and responsibilities and how the framework will work in practice. The Provisional UK Common Framework on Plant Varieties and Seeds was published in February 2022. It provides an outline to the Agreement and Concordat for this work area.
