Scottish Government have undertaken their annual review of seed certification and seed testing fees. Fees levied for licensing, training and examining members of the industry to carrying out a number of statutory functions has also be considered . This review applies only to the fees charged by Scottish Government. Details of the review, the costings and proposals can be found in the consultation document below. A supplementary consultation has been published due to errors which were identified within the published annex tables. The specific figures impacted were:
- Schedule 1 – (A) Initial Fees – (i)(b) Online applications
An incorrect calculation was applied which resulted in the previously proposed fee (for 2024-25) to be too high (by 16%).
- Schedule 2 – All services (A to E)
Incorrect calculations were applied which resulted in the previously proposed fees (for 2024-25) to be too low (by 2%).
To avoid misleading stakeholders, these figures been revised and the annex tables now accurately reflect the proposed service fees increases for 2024-25. The remaining proposed fees in Schedule 1, and in Fees Charged by OSTS for Scotland for Seed Testing as a whole, remain as previously advised, and the stakeholder options for consideration remain unchanged.
This supplementary consultation will run over a 6 week period - Monday 18/03/2024 to Monday 29/04/2024.
